Is VeganCuts Worth It? A Plant-Based Dietitian Reviews the Snack Box

Many people assume that as a plant-based dietitian, I have a constant stream of new vegan snacks ready to go. While that is sometimes true, the reality is that tracking down high-quality vegan options often requires more time and effort than most people are willing to invest, me included.

When VeganCuts reached out to send me their snack box, I was curious to see whether a subscription service could do the curation work better (and for less) than I can.

In this article, I will take you through the contents of some of the VeganCuts boxes I've gotten, sharing my reaction, my professional perspective as an RD, and my final verdict on whether this service is worth your money.

A Look Inside: The VeganCuts Unboxing

VeganCuts is a monthly snack subscription service that delivers 100% vegan snacks to your door every month. Each box comes with vegan snacks and ahead of time, you have the option to see a sneak peek of what's coming for the month. You can also see past months on their website to give you an idea of what to expect.

I like surprises, so I didn't peek at the email ahead of time, but it is helpful to see the notes for each item included.

What's Inside the VeganCuts Box

Each VeganCuts box arrives with 10 products, and the variety of snacks is fun to see. You're not getting 10 versions of the same thing. The mix of snacks typically spans savory snacks, something sweet, a high-protein option, and often a drink or drink mix thrown in.

It keeps things interesting and means there's usually something for whatever mood you're in.

Sizing is mostly single-serving, which makes sense for a snack box format. That said, I've also received full-sized items,  a bag of dried apricots being one of them. These feel like a nice bonus when they come.

What I appreciate most is who they source from. VeganCuts leans heavily on smaller, independent vegan brands rather than filling the box with products you'd find at any grocery store.

If you're someone who already knows every vegan snack at your local grocery, this box will introduce you to something new. That's not always a guarantee with subscription boxes, but VeganCuts tends to include items I haven't heard of until the box shows up.

Snack Reactions

The snacks in my VeganCuts box are a hit overall and the variety is always a plus. Across all the boxes I've received, I've rarely come across a snack I didn't like, and the ones I didn't like were mostly my personal preference, not product quality. Ahem…Coconut, I'm looking at you.

The Agro vegan jerky topped my list of favorite snacks, with 10 grams of protein and lower sodium, these sticks are nutritious and delicious. As an RD, I'm always looking for satisfying snacks, but I also love good, innovative ones. For me, this jerky checks both boxes, and I hadn't heard of it before getting the VeganCuts box.

The Brain Foods rice bar in the May 2026 box is my favorite sweet snack I've gotten so far. It was so good that I immediately searched for it to buy more. Unfortunately, I get a message that says "the product in your cart is not available for delivery to your location." Wah!

I hope this item ends up back in a VeganCuts box again, the crunchy texture + chocolate was so good. Discovering new good snacks is hard to put a price on.

A lot of these products come from indie companies doing really exciting things in the plant-based space, and getting to sample their products while supporting their mission feels like a win-win for me.

A Dietitian's Take on the Ingredient Quality

The curation of these snacks is more thoughtful than you might expect. Across the boxes I've received, there's always been a good mix of nutrient-dense snacks and more fun snacks. Think nuts, seeds, and fruit-forward products showing up alongside the bars and chocolates. It never feels like any one macronutrient is taking over the box.

From an RD standpoint, a few things consistently stand out. Ingredient lists tend to be on the shorter side, and the added sugar situation is better than expected. A lot of the sweeter options use fruit like the Chum and Appletastic fruit bites.

Because everything comes in individual serving sizes, these boxes can also work across a range of eating patterns. Whether you track macros or just want to snack without overthinking it, there's something in here for you.

Value Breakdown

Pricing for VeganCuts depends on your subscription plan. A monthly box runs $32, and an annual plan saves you $60 over the course of the year,  not a bad deal if you know you're in it for the long haul.

Each box comes with at least 10 items, which puts the cost per snack at around $3.20 for monthly subscribers and about $2.70 for annual subscribers.

I'd say this is around the average price of an individually packaged snack. Keep in mind that most of the snacks in these boxes you can't buy individually, so they are a great way to continue supporting vegan snack companies.

VeganCuts also donates a portion of its profits to animal sanctuaries. The sanctuary rotates each quarter, and subscribers can even nominate one for consideration. It's a small detail, but it matters when you're deciding where to spend your money.

Supporting a snack company that gives back to the animals we're trying to protect in the first place? I think the price point makes sense.

The Last Bite

Overall, I've loved my VeganCuts boxes!

They are well-curated, the variety keeps things interesting month to month, and the price point is fair for what you're getting, especially knowing part of that purchase supports animal sanctuaries. It's also one of the better gift options for a vegan in your life.
