Beyond is most known for its Beyond Meat products, which I love. But the innovation is pouring out of them in their new Beyond Test Kitchen product series. The newest item in the test kitchen is Beyond Immerse Protein Drink
Coming from a brand that makes mostly meat products I was initially surprised, but then figured all types of protein products kinda make sense because of the ingredients they are working with. Did I expect a protein drink? No, but is it that surprising given the current *protein-obsessed* market? Also, no.
I had the opportunity to try the Beyond Immerse Protein Drinks thanks to a gifted PR box sent by Beyond. While this was a gifted product, this review is in no way sponsored, and all these thoughts are my own.
About Beyond
Beyond is one of the pioneers of plant-based protein, starting in 2009, gaining huge popularity through the 2010s, and becoming publicly traded in 2019. Items on their product line include
- Beyond Chicken Nuggets
- Beyond Meatballs
- Beyond Chicken Pieces
- Beyond Breakfast Sausage
- Beyond Sausage
- Beyond Steak (my favorite!)
- Beyond Beef
- Beyond Burger
In their Beyond Test Kitchen, these options are also available as of January 2026
- Beyond Original Ground (made with only 4 ingredients, Faba bean based)
- Beyond Steak Filet
- Beyond Immerse™
Most of the non-test kitchen lines can be found in grocery stores near you, the test kitchen items are only available online.
Beyond has been working to expand and update its line to meet the demands and needs of its consumers. One huge complaint was the level of saturated fat, leading them to change their formulation switching from coconut oil to a heart health fat, avocado oil instead, drastically reducing the amount of fat. Which I personally, as a dietitian and hater of coconut oil, love.
What is Beyond Immerse?
Beyond Immerese is one of the newest products from the Beyond Brand. It is a drink that combines a protein, electrolyte, and a prebiotic fiber into one can. Instead of standalone protein or fiber drinks.
This product comes in two different varieties: 10g protein and 20g protein. As a registered dietitian, I find the two different protein levels a nice touch. It allows people to choose the option that best suits their nutrient needs.

Review of Beyond Immerse – Nutrients
Carbonated Water, Hydrolyzed Pea Protein*, Soluble Tapioca Fiber, And Less Than 1% Of Tartaric Acid, Natural Flavors, Stevia Leaf Extract (Steviol Glycosides), Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Monk Fruit Extract, Citric Acid, Vegetable Juice Color, Beta Carotene Color.
Important note from the label: *Peas are legumes. People with severe allergies to legumes like peanuts should be cautious when introducing pea protein into their diet because of the possibility of a pea allergy. Contains no peanuts or tree nuts.
Hydrolyzed Pea Protein
Hydrolyzed pea protein is a plant based protein made from yellow peas that has been partially broken down to improve mixability and digestion. In a beverage, it's a way to add protein without a heavy or gritty texture. It also provides essential amino acids that support muscle repair and fullness.
Soluble Tapicoa Fiber
Soluble Tapioca fiber comes from cassava root and dissolves easily in liquid. In a drink, it acts as a fermentable fiber that is generally well tolerated. It has limited thickening and does not change the flavor much. Soluble Tapioca Fiber may help support gut health and promote steadier energy by slowing digestion.
Tartaric Acid
Tartaric Acid is a naturally occurring acid found in fruits like grapes. In beverages, it helps balance sweetness and enhances flavor. It also helps maintain freshness and stability.
Stevia Left Extract and Monk Fruit
These are plant derived sweeteners that provide sweetness without adding sugar. In a beverage, they help keep sugar content low while still offering a pleasant taste. They are often used together to create a more balanced sweetness profile.
Beyond Immerse Taste Review
I’m taste testing three flavors of the Beyond Immerse Protein Drinks: Orange Tangerine, Peach Mango, and Lemon Lime. Here are my overall thoughts!

Orange Tangereine
The Orange Tangereine flavor comes in both 10 and 20 grams of protein.
10g: The tangerine flavor is very forward for my palate, with a lingering sweetness that feels a bit strong. I noticed a distinct aftertaste, which may be related to the monk fruit sweetener or protein blend. Overall, the brightness and sweetness combined to create a sharper finish than I personally prefer. 5/10
20g: The 20g drink is slightly thick, with only a subtle tangerine flavor up front. The aftertaste was more pronounced and stronger than in the 10g drink, making the overall flavor feel a bit overpowering for my palate. 3/10
Lemon Lime
The Lemon Lime flavor only comes in 10g of protein at this time. From their website, a 20g option is coming soon.
10g: This one has a pleasant, sweet lemon-lime flavor that reminded me of a classic soft drink, though there was still a noticeable aftertaste. 6/10
Peach Mango
Peach Mango also comes in 10 and 20g protein options. I tried the 20g protein, but they do have the 10g; however, it is sold out at this time.
20g: This is my favorite option. It had a pleasant, sweet peach and mango flavor. I didn’t notice a huge aftertaste with this one and felt the aftertaste was mostly peach forward, which I found enjoyable. The texture of this one also does not feel too thick. 8/10
If you want to try any of these, you can get them from the Beyond Test Kitchen Online.
My Overall Review of Beyond Immerse Protein Drinks
Overall, this product offers bold, fruit-forward flavors with noticeable differences in sweetness, aftertaste, and texture depending on the protein level, making it a better fit for some palates than others.
Pros
- Strong, fruit-forward flavors that are easy to distinguish.
- Multiple protein options at 10 g and 20 g for different needs.
- Peach Mango stands out with a smoother finish and minimal aftertaste.
Cons
- Monk fruit sweetness creates a noticeable aftertaste in most flavors.
- Tangerine flavor can feel sharp or overpowering, especially at 20 g.
- Thicker texture in higher-protein versions may not appeal to everyone.
- Flavor balance varies significantly between protein levels.
